Let this
date milk recipesurprise you. A delicious
date drink.
A quick look at the fruit before we share our date milk recipe
First, the name may remind you of the holy month of
Ramadan… or places such as Medina, Algeria, or Tunisia. There are many varieties. The best-known include
deglet nour,
ajwa,
medjoul or
sukkari. There are reportedly more than 300 varieties worldwide! As you know, this
stone fruit comes from the date palm. It is ideally grown in an oasis, as the tree needs sunshine and moist soil. A
fresh date contains plenty of water, giving it soft, flavorful flesh. Depending on the variety, its flavor may have notes of caramel, honey, or vanilla.
